Sean D. Thompson began writing his column, “The Political Animal,” on the week the writs dropped on the 2008 Federal Election. Since then, he’s tackled topics as diverse as the aborted sale of NB Power to the end of Mike Eagles’s term as STU’s hockey coach. He will be graduating from St. Thomas University in May 2012 with a major in history and minors in journalism and political science. A keen lover of trivia, he played Reach for the Top for Kennebecasis Valley High School, playing such an indispensable role that the team were national runners-up the year after he graduated. He’s amazed his deadpan, sometimes snarky style has brought him fame emceeing Reach for the Top tournaments and junior curling tournaments. In addition to politics, Thompson is keenly interested in sports (where he’s a sucker for any team in green), satire, an libraries (where he always seems to end up working).
